Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has sparked profound debate on whether machines can replicate or surpass human creativity. This study explores the intersection of AI and human creativity by analysing the capabilities and limitations of AI in the artistic, literary, and scientific domains. While AI systems demonstrate remarkable abilities in artistic and literary creativity, they fundamentally lack intentionality, emotional depth, and capacity for disruptive innovation. Creativity involves divergent and convergent thinking, and is deeply rooted in human cognition and experience. AI excels in pattern recognition, data processing, and iterative design, and offers tools that augment human creativity by enhancing efficiency and providing new perspectives. However, its reliance on pre-existing data and its inability to engage in abstract reasoning or emotional expression limit its potential for true originality. AI functions best as a collaborative tool, complementing human creativity, rather than replacing it. The discussion highlights ethical concerns, including intellectual property rights and bias in AI-generated content, stressing the importance of responsible AI implementation. By fostering human-AI synergy, society can drive innovation while preserving the uniqueness of human creativity.
