Abstract

Gender inequality refers to the unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It manifests in various social, economic, political, and cultural contexts, where one gender—most commonly women—is systematically disadvantaged compared to others. This inequality is evident in access to education, employment, healthcare, political representation, and personal freedoms. It is often perpetuated by deeply ingrained cultural norms, legal systems, and institutional practices. At its core, gender inequality reflects a disparity in power dynamics and opportunities between men, women, and non-binary individuals. It operates both at a structural level, such as unequal pay or discriminatory laws, and at a societal level, where traditional roles and stereotypes dictate individual behavior and choices.
