Abstract

This chapter examines India's vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047 through a psychological lens. Viksit Bharat@2047 represents a multidimensional concept of development that extends beyond economic growth to encompass mental wellbeing, social equity, and environmental sustainability. The chapter explores relevant psychological frameworks, including positive psychology and the indigenous Triguna model of personality, which can guide individual and collective development. It analyzes how social and cultural factors, particularly family dynamics, influence mental health outcomes in Indian society. The author proposes evidence-based interventions at community, government, and societal levels to enhance psychological wellbeing, emphasizing the integration of digital platforms and traditional wisdom. This psychological perspective demonstrates that mental health is intrinsically tied to broader development outcomes, making it essential to prioritize psychological wellbeing alongside economic and technological advancements to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat.
