Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 identifies the major challenges that affect India as a nation and are the main barriers to the country's education system, listing a financial crisis and a lack of infrastructure as some of the barriers. The vision of "Viksit Bharat@2047" implies the overall development of India into a developed country by the year 2047, marking its 100 years of independence. This ambitious goal, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, covers multiple dimensions of development, including economic growth, environmental sustainability, social improvement, and effective governance. Therefore, education emerges as the key element for this transformative lifecycle moment and serves as the foundation for achievement and mobility. The ambitious target of raising education spending to 6% of GDP, which can only be accomplished with concerted efforts, is also included in the proposed National Education Policy 2020.
