Abstract

The rapid proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized various sectors, including healthcare, smart homes, industrial automation, and transportation. However, this technological advancement also introduces significant security concerns, as IoT devices often operate with limited computational resources, making them vulnerable to cyber threats. Key challenges include unauthorized access, data breaches, malware attacks, and lack of standardized security protocols. Additionally, privacy issues arise due to continuous data collection and transmission across interconnected networks. This paper explores the major security threats associated with IoT-enabled devices and evaluates existing solutions to mitigate these risks. Potential security strategies include encryption techniques, blockchain-based authentication, artificial intelligence-driven threat detection, and the implementation of robust access control mechanisms. The study emphasizes the need for continuous research and policy development to enhance IoT security frameworks and ensure safer integration of these devices into daily life.
