Abstract

Not merely as recreation, but for purposeful learning is games introduced in the online learning environment. In the online learning, where the learners crave for interaction, communication and chances of presenting the issued faced by them, games are effective tool to combat all the technical disadvantages, especially when blended with positive reinforcement. Gamification is such process of learning which acts as an extrinsic motivation, where the learners’ intellect, thinking skills are solely responsible for their performances, while nurturing positive psychology among the learners boosts up their level of confidence, hence acting as an intrinsic motivation. In the online learning environment, there is lesser chances of interaction, social isolation, where positive psychology satisfies the learners’ cravings and helps them to maintain a strong bonding and positive perceptions towards the instructors.
