Abstract

Telemedicine has emerged as a transformative solution for bridging healthcare disparities, particularly in rural and underserved regions. This study explores the extent to which telemedicine has improved healthcare accessibility for rural populations, focusing on factors such as service availability, affordability, and patient outcomes. Through a review of recent technological advancements, policy frameworks, and implementation case studies, the paper highlights how telemedicine reduces travel burdens, shortens wait times, and enhances the continuity of care. Despite its promise, challenges such as limited internet connectivity, digital literacy, and regulatory barriers persist. The analysis underscores the need for integrated strategies that combine infrastructure development with user education and policy reform to maximize the benefits of telemedicine. Ultimately, telemedicine holds significant potential to reduce health inequities and enhance the quality of life in rural communities.
