Abstract

The integration of digital technology in education has transformed teaching and learning processes across the globe. However, this transformation has also highlighted and, in some cases, widened the digital divide—exposing deep-rooted inequities in access, infrastructure, and digital literacy. This article explores the multifaceted nature of the digital divide in 21st-century classrooms, examining how socioeconomic, geographic, and demographic disparities impact students' learning opportunities. It investigates the role of government policies, institutional practices, and community initiatives in addressing these challenges. Through a review of case studies and best practices, the article offers insights into strategies for promoting equity and inclusion in digital education. Emphasis is placed on designing accessible learning environments that cater to diverse learners, including those with special needs and from underprivileged backgrounds. The article concludes by proposing a framework for sustainable and inclusive digital education that ensures no student is left behind in the age of technology.
