Abstract

Curriculum plays a pivotal role in shaping students’ understandings of gender, identity, and diversity. It is not just what is taught but how it is taught that either reinforces traditional norms or challenges them to create inclusive environments. This chapter examines the relationship between curriculum design, content, and pedagogy with the construction of gendered and diverse identities. It explores how curricular materials reflect societal values, the implications of inclusive and exclusive curricula, and strategies to create educational spaces that honour multiple identities.
