Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is an essential educational framework that equips learners with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed to address global sustainability challenges. By integrating environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic viability into education, ESD fosters critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and participatory approaches. It empowers individuals to become responsible citizens capable of promoting sustainable practices within their communities and beyond. Despite its importance, ESD faces challenges such as inadequate teacher training, rigid curricula, limited resources, and institutional barriers. Addressing these requires coordinated efforts to raise awareness, reform educational policies, and support educators. Global initiatives and policy frameworks, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, underscore the importance of ESD in building resilient societies. Ultimately, ESD plays a transformative role in shaping a sustainable, just, and prosperous future by fostering lifelong learning and ethical decision-making among learners worldwide.Published
