Abstract

In the face of escalating global challenges such as climate change, social inequality, and ethical erosion, education must evolve to embrace a transformative ethos rooted in ethics, sustainability, and multidisciplinarity. This chapter explores how integrating these three pillars into educational theory and practice can foster responsible global citizenship, critical thinking, and holistic problem-solving. It underscores the need for value-based education, cross-disciplinary learning, and ecologically conscious pedagogy to prepare learners for an interconnected world. Through discussions on curriculum reform, pedagogical innovation, institutional roles, and policy frameworks like India's NEP 2020, the chapter highlights both challenges and opportunities in realizing this vision. Ultimately, it advocates for a systemic shift toward inclusive, future-ready education that cultivates compassionate, informed, and action-oriented individuals equipped to lead in building a just and sustainable society.
