Ethical leadership in education is essential for shaping institutional integrity and nurturing the character and values of future generations. In an era marked by globalization, technological change, and increasing diversity, educational leaders face complex decisions that test their ethical judgment. This paper explores the vital role of ethical decision-making in guiding leadership behavior, policies, and institutional direction. It examines common ethical challenges—such as equity, professional conduct, confidentiality, and socio-political pressures—that require leaders to balance diverse interests while upholding justice, integrity, and inclusion. Grounded in deontological, utilitarian, and virtue ethics frameworks, the study provides a conceptual basis for analyzing ethical leadership. It also highlights how ethical leadership fosters trust, enhances staff morale, and improves student engagement and outcomes. Ethical leaders shape the moral climate of schools through their example. The paper concludes by recommending practical strategies to develop ethical competence, including ethics-based training, participatory leadership, and reflective practices that support transparency, accountability, and moral courage in educational leadership.Published
