Abstract

Heart-centered learning is an emergent pedagogical approach that seeks to transform classrooms into spaces of empathy, mindfulness, and holistic growth. This chapter explores the foundational principles of compassion, connection, and consciousness in education and argues for their centrality in shaping responsive and resilient learners. Drawing on insights from neuroscience, spiritual pedagogy, and socio-emotional learning, the chapter examines how integrating heart-centered practices into curricula can foster deeper engagement, emotional well-being, and ethical awareness. It also presents case studies, practical strategies, and policy implications for educators aiming to implement this paradigm in diverse educational settings. Ultimately, the chapter contends that education which nurtures the heart, alongside the mind, is key to cultivating not only academic excellence but also global citizenship and inner peace.
