APOTHEOSIS OF KNOWLEDGE THROUGH LEARNING IN EDUCATION

Abstract

Sustainable development depends on our knowledge or wisdom. Knowledge is what you have, while learning is the process of gaining it. It is only possible when we must follow up the fundamental learning theory: behaviourism, cognitivism and constructivism. Behaviourism express that, knowledge is an observable behavior which is gained through external stimuli. Cognitivism states that knowledge is internal mental process. Constructivism explain that it is constructed by the learner’s experiences and approached by 5E’s model of constructivism (engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate).These three theories stimulus, mental process and experience, which are the basis of all knowledge; ensured the highest development (apotheosis) of knowledge by self-actualization. It is only possible with transformative learning of Mezirow and Cranton. There is expressed that meaning perspective is existential perspective; the domain of knowledge is Spiritual Intelligence (SQ/SI) and critical reflection being transcendent reflection. Here, SQ can best be seen as deeper transformative learning. This transformative learning is a model that integrates SQ(SQ = Intelligence Quotient+ Emotional Quotient) and transcendent reflection. Moreover, the highest development (apotheosis) of knowledge through learning in education is only possible by the ‘self-actualization’; which is indicated to reach the apex (SQ/SI) of intelligence (Qs).It has been adapted from spirituality and its initial state is called intuition.
