Cognitive neuroscience bridges psychology and neuroscience by exploring the neural underpinnings of cognition, behaviour, and emotion. This chapter examines the interplay between brain structure, neural activity, and cognitive processes, integrating perspectives from psychology and neuroscience. A special focus is given to the relevance of cognitive neuroscience in occupational therapy, emphasizing how insights into brain functioning inform rehabilitation, intervention strategies, and client-centered care. The chapter incorporates both classical theories and contemporary evidence, providing a balanced scholarly narrative. Psychologists’ perspectives are contrasted with neuroscientific approaches, followed by an integrative framework for clinical practice.Published
