Abstract

Educational Psychology shapes the learning environment by providing theoretical foundations and strategies to enhance the teaching – learning process. A learning environment is not about physical surroundings, but a dynamic interplay of psychological, social, and pedagogical factors that impact on learner development. This chapter analyzes the theoretical aspects associated with educational psychology and their practice to design situations that advance effective learning. It examines major psychological theories, including cognitive, behavioural, humanistic, and socio – cultural perspectives and focuses on their contribution to instructional design, assessment, classroom management, and students’ motivation etc. By analyzing these aspects, this chapter tries to explain how teachers can understand the individual differences well, fostering effective classroom situation to encourage active participation. By giving importance on the significance of educational psychology, it wants to reflect it’s essential role in creating environment that culture emotional well being, intellectual growth, and lifelong learning. Ultimately, it argues that educational psychology is not only supportive but foundational to the development of inclusive and effective educational practices.
