Abstract

The popularity of e-health consultation applications has skyrocketed, however, a major percentage of users merely discontinue activity after several weeks. Our work also uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and other similar theories to treat the issue. The concept of mindfulness is presented as a convenient means to overcome the mental barriers and promote a permanent usage. Research proves that the practice of mindfulness can alleviate anxiety related to technology, clarify one's mental state, foster confidence, and improve one's perception of the usefulness, ease of use, and innovativeness of a technological item. When combined, these advantages lead to higher chances of adoption as well as stronger impact. We present the Mindfulness-Mediated Adoption Model as a result of this validation, along with the tentative statements for further research and the practical healthcare and employer workflows. This playbook is the outcome of a comprehensive process that considers different cultures and can be applied in various contexts to change one-off interactions into continuous engagement, treatment adherence, and tangible health benefits that can be scaled.
