Higher education worldwide is undergoing a deep structural and pedagogical transformation driven by rapid advancements in digital technologies. In India, this transformation is further shaped by demographic diversity, policy reforms, digital public infrastructure, and persistent concerns around access and equity. The concept of "digital horizons" captures the expanding scope of technology-enabled practices that are redefining teaching, learning, governance, research, and institutional management in higher education. This chapter critically examines emerging trends such as technology-enabled pedagogy, artificial intelligence and learning analytics, digital assessment, smart campus systems, blockchain-enabled credentialing, and inclusive digital education. Drawing on recent scholarly literature, the chapter highlights both the opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation, including issues of ethics, privacy, digital equity, and workforce readiness. The discussion emphasizes the need for holistic, human-centered, and ethically grounded approaches to ensure that digital innovation enhances educational quality, inclusivity, and sustainability. The chapter concludes by outlining strategic directions for higher education institutions seeking to navigate digital transformation while preserving academic integrity and social responsibility.Published
