The reduction in cognitive and motor functions with age affects the functional ability of the aging healthy population in many daily life activities. Physical activity appears to alleviate this decline or even improve motor and cognitive abilities in older adults. Exercise is well known for improving physical health, cognitive performance, brain function and learning. Exercise improves cerebral blood flow which encourages neuroplasticity and secretes neurotrophic factors. This chapter review current evidence on the role of exercise on enhancing brain function.Published
