Abstract

The integration of the field of psychiatry with education systems in terms of mental health evaluation, intervention, and collaboration has seen a marked increase over the past decades. Though the integration of the field of mental health into education serves the purpose of enhancing the well-being of students, some ethics issues arise. The ethics issues include the concepts of autonomy and informed consent, the aspects of privacy and confidentiality, the process of ensuring equity and fairness in terms of culture, the aspects of potential mental health stigmatization of students, and the process of issuing labels. This paper will inform the major ethics issues related to the integration of the field of psychiatry with education.
