Abstract

Mindfulness is a modern psychological concept with roots in ancient forms of meditation. Given the stressors of school such as academic work, social issues, and mental health problems, many schools now teach mindfulness techniques in their programs. Research shows that mindfulness improves personal well-being and positively influences interpersonal relationships and social interactions in a classroom. Research has revealed several benefits of mindfulness practices in educational environments, such as improved academic performance, enhanced emotional regulation, and reduced stress levels among students. Its implementation can be designed around a more formal curriculum, but it can also be as easy as a small addition of mindfulness exercises into the daily routine, making implementation both simple and accessible to teachers and students alike.
