Abstract

Through data-driven instructional design, automated assessment, intelligent tutoring systems, and adaptive learning platforms, artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing educational systems around the globe. AI offers both exciting possibilities and difficult problems for Indigenous education, especially when it comes to pedagogy, cultural relevance, and equity. Indigenous education is based on holistic, culturally sensitive, community-centred methods that prioritise intergenerational knowledge transfer, relational learning, and collective identity. To guarantee that technological innovation upholds rather than undermines traditional educational norms, the incorporation of AI into such contexts necessitates careful alignment with Indigenous epistemologies.
