The Industrial Revolution created a "factory model" of education that was all about following rules and doing the same things over and over.. The 21st century is a totally different story. It is a time of changes and lots of things that are not certain. This chapter says we need to make a change in the way we teach. We need to move from just memorizing facts and focus on learning skills that will help students for their whole lives. We can do this by focusing on the 4Cs: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity. We need to combine these skills with being able to understand and manage our emotions and being good at using technology. This way we can change from a system that prepares students for one job to a system that prepares them for a lifetime of learning and changing.Published
