Education has always been a dynamic and evolving process that continuously adapts to societal needs and technological advancements. However, the pace of change has significantly accelerated with the emergence of the digital era. This transformation has reshaped not only how education is delivered but also why it is imparted. Traditional methods of teaching are gradually being replaced or supplemented by technology-driven approaches that offer greater flexibility, accessibility, and personalization for learners across different contexts. This chapter examines the evolution of the digital era and its impact on education, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which acted as a major catalyst for digital adoption. It explores current research trends and the concept of transformative learning, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and online teaching platforms. These innovations have enhanced the quality and reach of education, making learning more interactive and learner-centered. However, several challenges remain, such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of trained teachers, and socio-economic barriers like poverty, which continue to limit equal access to digital education.Published
