Abstract

The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as machine learning and natural language processing, are revolutionizing physiotherapy education. The purpose of this chapter is to analyze how AI has the potential to augment human-centered pedagogies in physiotherapy education through personalized learning, simulation training, and data-driven assessment. AI-supported tools like intelligent tutoring systems, motion capture platforms, virtual reality simulations, and conversational learning assistants provide opportunities for developing clinical reasoning, movement analysis, and decision-making capabilities in a controlled environment. Educators can use learning analytics to identify student learning styles and provide targeted academic assistance. Ethical concerns relating to data privacy, algorithmic bias, and equitable access to digital educational tools are also discussed. Future technologies such as generative AI simulations, collaborative learning platforms, and privacy-preserving machine learning could further transform physiotherapy education. The integration of AI technologies with human-centered pedagogical principles can create adaptable, inclusive, and participatory learning environments that will prepare physiotherapy students to meet the demands of an ever-changing health care system.
