Abstract

The development of physiotherapy education necessitates a paradigm change from conventional, teacher-centered models to methods that put the needs of the student and the patient first. In order to examine the two ideas of patient-centered and learner-centered assessment, this chapter explain it by using the earlier research. It highlights the crucial role that experiential knowledge plays in patient-centered care by examining the differences in patient education techniques between experienced and rookie physiotherapists. The chapter also examines pedagogical approaches for fostering clinical thinking, such as the application of organized reflective practices, simulation, and self-evaluation. The effectiveness of learner-centered approaches in promoting lifetime learning competencies is demonstrated through a systematic review. A thorough scoping review protocol for assessment techniques in physiotherapy education is suggested in the chapter's conclusion, along with a strategic SWOT analysis to direct future curriculum design. Effective assessment is a dynamic process that incorporates professional competence, reflective practice, and mutual respect between therapist, learner, and patient, as the synthesis emphasizes.
