With its emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, creativity, and real-world problem-solving, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education marks a paradigm change in modern teaching. This chapter examines the theoretical underpinnings of STEAM education and emphasizes how important teacher preparation is to its effective execution. It looks at the fundamental ideas of STEAM education, such as experiential learning, inquiry-based learning, and arts integration. In light of initiatives like Atal Tinkering Labs and NISHTHA as well as legislative frameworks like the National Education legislative (NEP) 2020, the chapter delves more into the implementation of STEAM teacher training programs in India. STEAM training presents a number of obstacles, including infrastructure constraints, resistance to pedagogical change, a lack of resources, and inadequate support for professional development, even though it offers enormous potential for enhancing teaching methods, encouraging innovation, and raising student engagement. In order to improve STEAM teacher training and guarantee its sustainability in a variety of educational contexts, the chapter ends with strategic recommendations that include ongoing teacher mentoring, industry partnership, and adaptable implementation methods.Published
