Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education has been transformed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) via enabling adaptive, interdisciplinary, and learner-focused pedagogies. This chapter explores the theoretical foundations, applications, and future directions of AI and ML in STEAM education. AI-based tools like intelligent tutoring systems, predictive analytics, and simulation environments are reshaping instructional means, assessment, and student participation. These technologies aid inpromoting the core ideology of STEAM learning which are critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, and also supports individualised learning means. Despite these benefits, challenges such as ethical concerns, data privacy, algorithmic bias, and digital inequity persist. The chapter is based upon findings of recent systematic reviews and studies to comment on AI usage in enhancing experiential and interdisciplinary learning while emphasizing the need for ethical and inclusive implementation. The chapter concludes with recommendations for educators, policymakers, and researchers to integrate AI responsibly in STEAM curriculum, so that advancements in technology help in contributing to equitable and meaningful educational outcomes in the 21st century.
