Indian temples are powerful symbols of India’s rich knowledge system. They are places of worshipand also beautifully combines culture, science, and spirituality in one structure. Built according to ancient texts like “Vastu Shastra” and “Shilpa Shastra”, temples reflect deep understanding of design, geometry, sound, and energy. At the same time, they served as cultural centers where art, music, dance, and festivals are learned, practiced, performed and preserved. Spiritually, temples guide a person from the outer world to inner peace, self - actualization and self-realization. Different parts of India developed unique styles oftemple such as the Dravidian style in the south, the Nagara style in the north, and the Vesara style in the Deccan region. Each style represents local culture and environment influenced temple design. This chapter explains how Indian temples are not just religious spaces but complete systems that connect human life with nature, science, and higher consciousness, making them classic and timeless examples of holistic knowledge.Published
