INNOVATIVE PEDAGOGIES IN PHYSIOTHERAPY EDUCATION

Abstract

The distance between what students encounter in academic lectures and what awaits them in clinical practice has long troubled educators, supervisors, and students themselves. This chapter examines a some pedagogical approaches such as simulation based learning, problem based learning (PBL), inter professional education (IPE), and flipped classroom designs. Drawing on empirical literature from the past decades alongside the practitioner experiences, the chapter argues that no single method holds the complete answer. Instead, what does work is the deliberate, thoughtful layering of approaches, held together by a consistent commitment to reflective practice and student centred curriculum planning. The chapter closes with conclusion that it is high time to design physiotherapy curriculum in a way, patient can be benefitted.
