ADVANCING ETHICAL AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES IN PHYSIOTHERAPY EDUCATION

Abstract

Learning ethics in physiotherapy is based on teaching in a way other than passive memorization. Currently, it is learner-centered, focusing on building their skills and identity as a future professional. It promotes learning that encourages the development of integrity and taking responsibility for decisions in real clinical situations. For this, simulation has been found to be an effective method through which the integration of skills succeeds. By practicing realistic scenarios, students can encounter problems related to physiotherapy, such as the ethics of physical contact during treatment. It would be good to manage relationships with patients while maintaining professional boundaries. The leaner will be able, through experience, to manage compassion and trust towards patients during the practice of healthcare. Clinical practice is a response to challenges that leaner encounter in their education, such as the hidden curriculum and other courses w not assimilated, as well as moral distress when they are confronted with difficult situation s during internship. AI being an essential tool following technological revolution, by including perspective on global cultural safety and even modern topics such as AI ethics, physiotherapy programs can meet international standards. This would provide assurance that students are ready to work confidently in diverse environments around the world. The objective is to prepare physiotherapists who are highly competent and ethically grounded, ready to practice with confidence and compassion anywhere in the world without distinction.
