Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a powerful tool in physiotherapy education, offering innovative approaches to teaching, learning, clinical training, and research. AI-driven technologies such as virtual reality, robotics, motion analysis systems, intelligent tutoring platforms, and machine learning applications can enhance students’ knowledge, practical skills, and clinical decision-making abilities. These technologies provide personalized learning experiences, improve assessment methods, and create opportunities for realistic clinical simulations and remote learning. AI also supports research activities by facilitating data analysis, evidence synthesis, and the development of predictive models for patient care. Despite its numerous advantages, the integration of AI into physiotherapy education faces challenges including high implementation costs, technological infrastructure requirements, ethical concerns, data privacy issues, and the need for faculty training. Addressing these challenges through appropriate policies, curriculum development, and professional training is essential for successful adoption. Overall, AI has the potential to transform physiotherapy education by improving learning outcomes, strengthening clinical competence, and preparing future physiotherapists to meet the evolving demands of modern healthcare systems.
