Teacher education is undergoing a profound transformation in response to rapid technological advancements, globalization, changing learner characteristics, and evolving societal expectations. Traditional models of teacher preparation, which primarily emphasized content transmission and standardized practices, are increasingly being replaced by innovative and learner-centred paradigms that focus on professional competencies, reflective practice, inclusivity, and lifelong learning. This chapter examines the transformative trends and emerging paradigms shaping contemporary teacher education and explores their implications for preparing future-ready educators. It highlights the shift from conventional approaches to competency-based, constructivist, and practice-oriented models that emphasize critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy. The chapter further discusses the growing influence of technology-enhanced learning, artificial intelligence, personalized learning environments, and digital pedagogies in redefining teacher preparation and professional development. In addition, it examines the increasing importance of inclusive education, multicultural competence, global citizenship, and education for sustainable development in fostering socially responsible and culturally responsive educators. Particular attention is given to transformative pedagogies, reflective practice, mentoring, and school-university partnerships that contribute to professional identity formation and continuous improvement among teachers.Published
