ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN TEACHER PREPARATION

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation have emerged as powerful catalysts for reshaping teacher preparation across the globe. The rapid integration of intelligent technologies into educational systems has transformed the ways in which teachers are trained, assessed, and supported throughout their professional careers. Contemporary teacher education is no longer confined to traditional pedagogical approaches but increasingly emphasizes digital competence, AI literacy, personalized learning, data-informed decision-making, and innovative instructional practices. This chapter explores the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation in teacher preparation by examining their conceptual foundations, technological innovations, pedagogical implications, and future prospects. It discusses how AI-driven learning management systems, intelligent tutoring systems, learning analytics, virtual and augmented reality, and adaptive assessment tools are enhancing the quality and effectiveness of teacher education programmes.
