Internationalization and cross-cultural perspectives have become essential dimensions of contemporary teacher education in an increasingly interconnected, diverse, and technologically mediated world. Teachers are no longer expected to work only within culturally homogeneous classrooms; they must engage with learners from varied linguistic, cultural, social, ethnic, and national backgrounds. Internationalization in teacher education involves integrating global perspectives, comparative educational knowledge, international experiences, intercultural competencies, and global citizenship into teacher preparation programmes. Cross-cultural perspectives, meanwhile, enable prospective teachers to understand cultural diversity, challenge ethnocentric assumptions, communicate across differences, and develop culturally responsive pedagogical practices. This chapter examines the concepts of internationalization, cross-cultural education, and teacher education, and explores their intersection in preparing globally competent teachers. It discusses the need for internationalization and cross-cultural perspectives, strategies for implementation, major barriers, and suggestive measures to overcome these challenges. The chapter argues that internationalized and cross-culturally responsive teacher education can strengthen teachers' professional competencies, promote inclusion and equity, enhance intercultural understanding, and prepare learners to participate responsibly in a global society. It concludes that internationalization should not be limited to physical mobility or institutional partnerships but should become an integral component of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, research, digital learning, and institutional culture.Published
